Patient Information

We’re an experienced team of physiotherapists that are leaders in hip and groin injury diagnosis and rehabilitation.

What we do

The Hip & Groin Clinic is comprised of a group of physiotherapists with a special interest in the management of all conditions relating to the hip, groin, pelvis, buttock, thigh and pubic regions. We treat both acute and chronic pathology in both the athletic and non-athletic populations, spanning all ages (paediatric to geriatric) and provide pre-operative and post-operative surgical management.

Where is The Hip & Groin Clinic?

We are located at MOG Sports Medicine, Level 1, 33 The Avenue, Windsor, Vic 3181. Phone 03 9529 3333.

How do I make an appointment?

Follow the link below or visit the MOG Sports Medicine website and book in with one of our team members:

  • Andrew Wallis
  • Alesha Coonan
  • Michael O’Brien
  • Charlotte Ganderton

You can also call the clinic directly on 03 9529 3333.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required for a physiotherapy consultation.

Are rebates available?

Yes, if you have private health insurance with physiotherapy extras, you may claim on the spot through HICAPS. Contact your private health insurance provider to obtain an estimate of your rebate.

You may also qualify for an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) which can be obtained via your GP.

How long is an appointment and what should I expect?

Initial physiotherapy appointments are 40 minutes. During this time we will undertake a thorough history and physical examination, allowing us to provide you with a diagnosis, treatment and management plan. This may involve hands on treatment, exercise prescription or activity modification.

What should I bring and what should I wear?

Please bring along any prior scans (X-ray, MRI etc) as well as any letters from other practitioners. Where possible, please wear appropriate activewear, however, we appreciate many patients will come from work and this may not be an option.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments will depend on your injury or condition. Some patients will only require 1 or 2 appointments, whereas some post-operative patients may require 3 to 6 months of rehabilitation and management. We at the Hip & Groin Clinic pride ourselves on our reputation for providing excellent management in fewer consultations than the state average (based on BUPA data).

Can physiotherapists refer for scans?

Yes, when appropriate, a physiotherapist can refer for X-ray, MRI and Ultrasound.

What if I live interstate or overseas?

We happily provide Telehealth for all our interstate and international patients, in addition to those who may not be able to physically make it to the clinic. To make a Telehealth appointment, please contact MOG Sports Medicine on 03 9529 3333.
